Anglais avec Californien/Natif

I provide an informal space for students who want to learn in a very relaxed and friendly environment. We can have coffee while talking about our week at work all in English while your new friend(the teacher) helps correct your English from time to time throughout the conversation. That's the best way I learnt Spanish and so, I thought maybe there are many English learners in the world like me. I use a lot of videos because I believe it's a great way to expose students to different accents and not just my own and also, articles on current affairs, lifestyle, pop culture, human rights, foreign language learning and even LGBT topics. Occasionally, we just do a lot of speaking activities in classes and I try to ensure the activities require the use of vocabulary and grammar points learnt in past classes. I encourage and force students to talk about the topic at the moment. I believe in the repetition method which is used to help the student re-use vocabulary and grammar points learnt in past classes. This way, they won't forget the new vocabulary easily. What I also think is necessary while learning a foreign language is the use of its various slangs and even bad words. I expose students to both so that when they watch a Netflix series or go to the country, they are less likely to find themselves in a situation where they feel lost because they didn't understand the meaning of a very regularly used colloquial word or term.
