I have been teaching for the past three years. I have taught kids and teenagers. My approach to the language is very simple and very student friendly. I start with with a few common verbs for example "eat, drink, study" ,a few prepositions for example " in, on, at" , articles "a, an, the" and time of the day as in " morning, afternoon, night." This helps in constructing basic sentences like "I eat in the morning." After constructing a few basic sentences the student gains some confidence and then I take this few things into details. I do not believe in concentrating on the details of the grammar initially as it makes the students lose interest. I make the student come up with everyday working verb they do and turn them into sentences using this basic grammar. This is my way to draw the student into the language because he or she gets to use it with friends and family very quickly. They wish to know more and that makes it easier both ways. I believe in letting my students express themselves and give them all the freedom. Being a student of communication I know how important communication and understanding is between a student and a teacher. I put myself in place of the student and discover myself as I if am learning the language from the very beginning.
