Description des cours
I appreciate the opportunity to be a candidate for the position of English/American teacher/Educational Support/Traductrice.
I am an American, with the goal of living & working in France. I previously lived in France for 10 years, worked at the BIPM in Sèvres.
My teaching experience in the USA has included all ages & levels of French Instruction. In addition, I have had leadership roles through the years including : Dean of French Language Camp, Director of After-School Elementary Language Programs, French Curriculum & Instructor for private companies, Tour Group Leader to Europe on 3 occasions, and the establishment of a small French Club in my local area. (My husband was French, & my children were born in Paris .)
Living & working in France, immersed in French culture, gave me a solid expertise that is important in teaching English in France. I am eager to share my American life with students. I emphasize the 4 language skills (listening, speaking, reading & writing), but with a continual underlying theme of awareness & understanding of the American people & culture.
With a fluent English/American, my classes, group or individual, would be conducted in English as much as possible. Confronted with the spoken language, the students acquire vocabulary needed for typical social settings & a good pronunciation. The grammar structures & pronunciation rules are taught, i.e. through drills, repetition, questions & answers.
My goal is to teach the language effectively, to develop an appreciation of other cultures, & broaden the students' view of individual differences. Students should recognize the need for foreign languages in many careers and realize the opportunities & advantages that learning English can offer.
Using modern technology & audio-visuals, it is also important to relate the significance of language in their own lives, presenting the lesson with clarity & with relevance. Students should be aware of the current global economy & of the priority of learning languages today.
I have a long stay visa which I have renewed & will renew again in Oct. This visa does not authorize me to work in France, but I continue to move toward that goal. I would accept any assistance, after reviewing my application & an interview, that you would perhaps consider completing the document necessary to request the work permit. i.e. CDD part-time. Thank you.
