I have been teaching EFL/ELL for over 25 years and PSOL. I have been teaching EFL/ELL for over 25 years and PSOL. I hold a Pedagogy/TESOL and I have developed teaching material for a variety of language teaching situations for “zero beginners” and exam preparation for CELPE-Bras/ TOEFL. English classes in MS are interdisciplinary. History topics are closely interwoven with literature studied in English, growing in depth and complexity, with extensive collaboration with other disciplines including science, art, and Portuguese. Classes are discussion-based, promoting inquiry, exploration, and presentation. My particular teaching interests are vocabulary development, communicative approach, and intercultural competence. I believe that intercultural education, teaching intentionally and with purpose are keys to developing autonomous, critical-thinking, and open-minded learners.
