I have liked teaching since I was a child. I really enjoy each class, trying to get the best out of each student. My name is Sonia and I have been teaching for more than ten years. I am a teacher of primary education and special educational needs, and a passionate teacher of Spanish as a foreign language.

During my professional career, I have dealt with students with completely different profiles. From adults to children, each with their own needs.

I could say that my background is completely dedicated to educational sciences and language learning.

In the last few years, I have been studying the impact of language on psychology from a pedagogical perspective: how to teach language to communicate better, and how grammar, vocabulary, and context solve communicative problems.

This involves understanding different mechanisms of how the brain works in relation to teaching strategies.
I think I can help my students a lot by giving them a real and useful insight into the language they are learning.

The contents I teach are within the Program of the Instituto Cervantes and the recommendations for levels A1-C2 of the official exams. The four basic skills (oral and listening comprehension and oral and written production) will be practiced through the topics that the student prefers to deal with.

For the lessons, I have a large selection of material from multiple categories. I work with Moodle where I have full communication with my students. At all times you will enjoy the content published and with quick access. In addition to study material, you will get recommendations to have fun like a native speaker.

Sonia is an outstanding professional, with an extensive knowledge of Spanish language and a lot of teaching experience, which allows her to truly adapt the classes to the student needs and pace. Besides that she knows a bit of different languages, which is an extra for us foreigners trying to understand a new language and culture. Thank you Sonia!

11/10 Teacher! I have always struggled with learning languages and tried to learn Spanish as a teenager but with little to no success. Since joining Sonias class she has made learning Spanish, not only easy, but fun for me. My Spanish level has improved and I feel confident to speak with native Spanish speakers on a daily basis. Sonia can make the most difficult of grammar easy to understand and practice. She understands how students learn and makes her content easy to understand, relatable and funny. She is an incredibly kind and patient teacher, and creates a warm and friendly classroom environment for all her students. She has excellent resources for every topic and grammar point you can think of and the ones you haven't even thought about yet. I cannot recommend her enough. If you want to try learning Spanish with a real native Spanish speaker, who cares about you and your personal learning goals, then Sonia is the teacher for you

Great teacher that adapts to what you want. If you want to learn Spanish as quick as possible, she is the best because she will push you to your absolute limits using a strategy to make you learn the quickest. If you want to learn slowly, she will also make sure you don’t have too much pressure. Very intelligent lady.

Me encanta aprender español con Sonia. Su enseñanza es totalmente personalizada: tiene en cuenta mis necesidades, capacidades, objetivos y planes. Explica las reglas gramaticales de forma muy clara, con muchos ejemplos prácticos que facilitan su comprensión y aplicación. Su personalidad abierta y amable crea un ambiente muy agradable, por lo que las clases siempre son disfrutables. Valoro especialmente que siempre me anima y me elogia, es paciente conmigo, me motiva y nunca me hace sentir que “esto ya deberías saberlo”. Estoy muy agradecida por esta actitud.

Sonia es una maestra muy professional, simpatico y inteligente. Ella enseñaba por cerca uno año y ahora me siento más seguro cuando hablo español. Ella es muy paciente y escondes los metodologías apropiadas por mi estilo de vida. Se recomiendo siempre!
