Hello, I'm Sophia. I am an EFL (English as a Foreign Language) teacher. I am a native English speaker (Received Pronunciation) and a CELTA and TEFL-qualified teacher with experience teaching English to both adults and children. I also hold a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in English Literature, and have a special interest in Victorian Gothic Literature.

I have worked with English learners of all backgrounds, both in the UK and abroad, and have had notable experience working with Korean, Mandarin, Turkish, and Arabic speakers. As a result, I am adept at finding solutions for the specific challenges speakers of these languages may encounter; my lessons may involve particular focus on phonics, accent modification, or grammar if the student requires it.

I have experience in both classroom and one-to-one settings teaching general, conversational, and business English, as well as IELTS and university preparation.

I am an inclusive teacher who enjoys designing fun and dynamic student-centred lessons tailored to my learners’ individual needs, goals, interests, learning styles, and motivations. My goal is to create a supportive and nurturing learning environment. I have both professional and lived experience of neurodivergence, and warmly welcome students who may require additional learning support.
