I'm CELTA qualified, I teach a wide-ranging vocabulary, so if you seek to speak like a wordsmith, then I'm your man.

Lessons will focus on two main elements for each class, usually from either reading comprehension, listening comprehension, written skills, spoken skills, grammatical skills, spelling skills and vocabulary skills. Each class will focus on a subject to incourage discussion and engagment. It's a lot more motivating to want to speak a language when you are curious and eager to share your perspective! While I do have an Irish accent, my Australian mother and half-English half-Irish father have given me quite a neutral accent, and my worldly experiences mean I have had years of learning how to follow a middle road of accents, being understood by the maximum amount of English speakers. I also try to foster an environment of friendliness and mutual respect. I am not interested in replicating the hierarchy of a school classroom - if you are paying to learn English, you are paying me to follow my passion so there's no need for theatrics. I know well that different people have different reasons for learning English. If you are more focused on simply improving your vocabulary, then that is what we shall focus on, and if you'd rather that we only look at raw grammar in its purest form, then that is what we shall do too! Lastly, one element of language I try to intergrate with my teaching is etymology, as I believe that gaining perspective on where words came from and how they connect to the other languages of the world will give you a burning desire to become fluent in English, if you don't have it already!
