My name is Pierre, I have been a French teacher for quite a few years I have taught in many universities, schools, different Alliances françaises, in private lessons online, as well as in person.
I teach both children (my youngest student is currently 6 years old) and adults.
I teach general and professional French. I have taught medical French and French used in the hotel/restaurant industry. I also prepare my students to pass different official exams such as the TEF, the TEFAC which is the Canadian version of the TEF, the DELF, the DALF, the TELC and finally the TCF which is the test of knowledge of French allowing nationality and residence. We work together on mock exams and corrections.
I have developed a method that I wish I had used when I was younger. It is a method that does not take up your free time. You certainly have better things to do than to learn obscure grammar rules and vocabulary that is no longer useful.
Learning a language means acquiring 4 skills
Grammar: only what is still used and learning it with simple methods without complicated grammatical terms.
Vocabulary: the current one, used in your target environment.
Phonetics: There is no point in speaking without an accent! It doesn't mean anything. I'm from Paris, people from Marseille think I have an accent! The one from Paris, of course. The accent is only a problem when it is so strong that it interferes with understanding.
Culture: It helps to avoid misunderstaunderstanding.
