Teacher of English with thirty-three years experience teaching English abroad.

I have been teaching TEFLA since 1992, in Slovakia, S Korea, Poland, Saudi Arabia, Japan, Mauritania and I have taught various course on the IELTS (Edinburgh University) summer programme from General English to Advanced Grammar and English for Foreign Teachers of English as well as a Pre-Sessional English course at Heriot Watt University (Edinburgh).
How I teach depends on the size of class, what the students need English for and their motivation. I have taught CEFR Levels A1 to C2 and above, the Cambridge suite of exams and TOEFL. The easiest way to describe my teaching is eclectic drawing from my experience, my RSA ECLES Diploma in TEFLA and my Masters degree in Applied Linguistics (Edinburgh University).
Knowing my students overall aims in learning English I am prepared to negotiate the topics and priorities in any English learning programme.
My first priority in any classroom is in having a friendly, safe, humorous learning environment in which mistakes / slips of the tongue are accepted (but pointed out at the correct time) the materials suit the students and thus enhance their motivation.
I enjoy teaching (seeing students improve) and want my students to enjoy their time in our shared classroom.
