Les temps du passé en anglais

Passé simple
Utilisation : Utilisé pour des actions complétées dans le passé sans lien avec le présent.
Exemple : "She visited London last year." / "Elle a visité Londres l'année dernière."
Passé continu (progressif)
Utilisation : Utilisé pour des actions en cours dans le passé ou pour décrire une action interrompue.
Exemple : "While I was studying, my friend called." / "Pendant que j'étudiais, mon ami a appelé."
Plus-que-parfait
Utilisation : Utilisé pour indiquer une action terminée avant une autre action dans le passé.
Exemple : "She had already finished her work when the boss arrived." / "Elle avait déjà fini son travail quand le patron est arrivé."
Plus-que-parfait continu
Utilisation : Utilisé pour montrer la durée d'une action qui s'est déroulée avant une autre action dans le passé.
Exemple : "They had been waiting for two hours when the train finally arrived." / "Ils avaient attendu pendant deux heures quand le train est enfin arrivé."
